My friend feeds this linseed -http://www.simplesystem.co.uk/complement... to her horse and has offered me some for my TBx. His feet are terrible at the minute, would linseed help at all? His hoof growth is slow (more like stationary!) and he's had to have his shoes off. Has anyone had any experience of linseed having any affect at all on hoof growth or quality? Thanks
By the way, he's under the care of the vet and the farrier for his feet :-)
He visits the farrier every 5weeks
He gets a mixture of vegetable oil and iodine applied every other day. The rest of the time he has Keratex Hoof Moisturiser. He gets sprayed with Bactakill 55 once a week, and has NAF Hoof and Sole Hardener applied once a week (on a different day). He was being fed "Event" but the farrier has advised to bring him off this now as it is not helping his growth, it was for his white line quality.
He wears "Old Mac G2" hoof boots, is out of work. His hooves aren't wearing down, they're just not growing!
