Question:

Lint in contact lenses?

Everytime I clean my contacts and all, I check and there's always a little bit of lint or a tiny hair inside, so I pinch it out and keep doing that. When I put them in it kind of hurts and I take them out, and there's a nother little hair. How do I get ALL of the lint out? Thanks! (Oh and I know how to rinse them with the solution)

  1. your better off just replacing the pair if its been 3 to 4 weeks of using them, or just let them soak in the case

  2. I used to always have this problem. I'm really odd in all my daily routines and everything has to be done a certain way for me so when I put my contacts in here is what I do: I put it in the palm of my hand, soak it in solution, rub it around a bit (even if it says you don't need to rub), gently pick it up, shake off the excess solution, put it on the tip of my finger, gently put more solution on the contact (so it's completely filled but not falling over) and then put it in my eye. There's usually solution dripping down my face when I'm done. It sounds like a hassle and crazy but I never get the pain from little hairs or lint in my eyes anymore. Hope this helps!

  3. It might be possible that there is a scratch on your contact lens.  I would take then to your eye doctor and ask him/her to look at it under the microscope and make sure it alright.  Also, while your there, if your lens isn't cut or anything I would seriously consider asking your eye doctor about why they may be so "linty".

Perhaps you might just need to change an air filter in your vents, or if you dont have one get a stand up air filter.  That was some of the lint will be taken out of the air and not able to get into your lens and cause you pain/irritation.

Best of luck to you and your lenses, from one wearer to the other.  =)

  4. Some nice sand paper will do the trick.  It will get all the lint.

  5. Wash your hands before you put contacts in your eye. If that doesn't work try washing out the case.
