i need help with a media player for linux.

i need something that i can put music on my ipod to and my bf's go gear mp3 player (so it needs to have a synch tool.

    But If you mean to say a "music player and manager", as is evident from your additional details, then Amarok is the best one ever written. Beats iTunes, too.

    Open your package manager and search for Amarok, then install it.
