how do i use my zyair wireless adapter on one of my comps with linux

i heard of wine will that work?

it says only compatible with xp, vista, and 2000

  1. Oh dear. Linux is great with many things, but it still stumbles with supporting various hardware items, network adaptors and printers being at the very top of the list. A quick Google search for "Zyair Linux" reveals their IS a native kernel patch, but you'll have to recompile your kernel to add some code in. If you wish to learn that, great, but not everyone does. Your other option is to run the Windows networking drivers under Linux with NDISwrapper. It usually works, but it's hardly an ideal solution to the problem. While I've never used it, I hear it makes new Linux users want to tear their hair out.

    You can try both, but ultimately, you may just wish to buy a wireless card with native in-stock-kernel support. Here's a list of some:

    Also, in the future, list your distribution and a version number if yours isn't a rolling one, as well as the model of applicable hardware.
