Lion Evolution?

Will the lions become more big an dstronger in th enext 40 years or so because:

-there must be at least 5 lions to take down theyr main prey the buffalo and even then it's hard for them

-the smaller lions cannot defend and fight will bigger lions and therefore will not mate to pass on they genes

So the lions will grow bigger and stronger whith every generation to come?

  1. No. Lion evolution, like that of most species now existing, is at it's end.  Evolution is not simply a change over time.  In order for something to evolve there has to be a stimulus for change.  Currently there isn't any.

    I don't know where you saw that about their main prey being buffalo, ( which buffalo?),  but that's not true.  Neither is the comment about 5 lions needed to take one down.  Suppose the buffalo was a yearling?  Don't forget, lions are scavengers as well.

  2. Maybe. Only if the Lions SURVIVE in the next 40 yrs. Sadly, they may be extinct by then.
