The FIFA Ballon d’Or winner has expressed that he, along with his team mates, expects Pep Guardiola to remain at Camp Nou as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 manager.
The Argentine international wants Guardiola to stay in charge of affairs at the Catalan capital.
Messi scored an astounding four goals in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Valencia at the Camp Nou on Sunday. The star player was deservedly named man of the match as he was able to put up an outstanding performance in a highly competitive fixture.
The 24-year-old was, without doubt, the finest player on the pitch during the proceedings of the match and appeared quite pleased as he addressed reporters after the game. However, the main topic under discussion for the Argentine was the future of
his club’s manager, Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola’s current contract with the current UEFA Champions League title holders is bound to expire at the end of this season’s campaign. Many expect the tactician to renew his current contract with the Spanish Giants and remain at the helm of affairs
at the Nou Camp.
Interestingly, the 41-year-old has delayed his final decision to extend his current contract with La Blaugrana and has kept everyone under the shadow.
According to Barca’s official website, Messi said:
"The manager knows what we think, but he will make his decision at the appropriate time. Obviously, we all want him to stay at Barca because, to us, he's very important."
Messi was one of the players who rose to prominence during Guardiola’s reign as head coach. The managerial career of the Spaniard at Barcelona has been immensely successful, so much so that even with lack of experience, he is considered to be one of
the best managers in the world.
Guardiola has always praised Messi for his tremendous skill and technique on the ball. The duo is very appreciative of one another and the Argentine hopes that things will continue this way.
"The truth is that I've been very calm. My teammates, manager and the people that are important to me have confidence in me, and that makes me happy. It's important that the team has found its form again.”
