The visitors went into this game as heavy favourites and the defeat proved to be a blow for La Albiceleste fans all over the world. Their disappointment would be made worse since captain Lionel Messi failed to put up a convincing performance as well.
A huge crowd showed up to watch the home side play and their presence was justly rewarded as La Vinotinto earned a victory over a comparatively stronger Argentina.
Venezuela were able to put up a strong performance as their defence, in particular, stood firm throughout the game. The likes of Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria were made to suffer as the home side maintained a clean sheet.
Argentina made a bright start to the proceedings, testing La Vinotinto goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Caracas-c38730 shot-stopper, however, stood tall between the posts.

the bar.
Approaching the second half, both teams had tested their luck with shots on goal but they were unable to break the deadlock.
Venezuela started the second period with some intent, with crowd cheering their every touch. The underdogs notched up their attacking game and kept Argentina under constant pressure.
Cesar Farias’ men were rewarded soon enough, as Amorebieta was able to score for the hosts from a corner in the 61st minute.
