Brazilian football legend Romario has claimed that Lionel Messi still has to beat Maradona, himself and Pele to become the greatest footballer. According to reports, the statement was made as an opinion towards the Argentine youngster.

Romario is one of the highest goal-scorers in the history of the game. A prominent name on FIFA’s list of top 125 greatest footballers, he played an integral part in the Brazilian squad during their 1994 World Cup triumph.
The former FIFA World Player of the Year has so far scored more than a 1000 goals, though, there is debate on whether the amount is entirely correct or not.
Recently, there have been many comparisons made between Messi and the greatest footballers of all time. Some even claim that the Barcelona player is the greatest player the game has ever witnessed.
