Barcelona’s goal scoring machine, Lionel Messi, has warned his teammates not to underestimate Manchester United ahead of the UEFA Champions League final showdown. The European giants will go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 28, to battle
for the glory of Europe’s most prized club competition.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s
men are flying high these days after pocketing yet another English Premier League title, surpassing Liverpool’s record of 18th League titles.
23-year-old Messi, who is yet to open his goalscoring account on English soil, could prove out to be a trump card for Pep Guardiola in the final. Messi’s blistering strikes and match-winning performances in current season have helped Barcelona in claiming
their 21st Spanish Primera Liga crown, and reaching the Champions League final. Having scored more than 50 goals in this season and disturbing the record books with ease, Messi has revealed that the final against Men in Red could turn out to be a cliff-hanger.
The Argentinean International, who was made to sit on the sidelines in Barcelona’s final La Liga fixture of the season against Deportivo La Coruna, said “They won the English championship and they are in the Champions League final. They can't be very weak
if they have achieved all that.”
Manchester United would be desperate to win their fourth European Cup title after being beaten 2-0 by Barcelona in a final played two years back in Rome. Goals from Messi and Samuel Eto'o helped Barcelona overcame Alex Ferguson’s men.
“It is a final, it is a special match given what is at stake. The good memory of Rome is behind us. This will be a totally different match. We are facing a very strong adversary, which has very good players.” He concluded.
With both sides running balanced on paper, the game could prove to be one of the best games of the year.
