Lions' Suh denies any wrongdoing in Lions 27-15 loss to Packers – NFL News
Ndamukong Suh is in trouble again. Detroit Lions burly defensive tackle was ejected during Lion’s 27-15 loss to unbeaten Green Bay Packers early in the third quarter for stomping on Packers Guard Evan Dietrich-Smith.
Suh, however, denied any wrongdoing and defended himself during the postgame chat with reporters. In an attempt to justify his actions Suh said that he had no intention to kick anybody and was just off balance. Talking to the press,
he said. "I was on top of a guy, being pulled down, and trying to get up off the ground -- and why you see me pushing his helmet down, because I'm trying to remove myself from the situation, and as I'm getting up, I'm getting pushed, so I'm getting myself
on balance."
The 24 year old also apologized to his teammates, coaches and fans for getting ejected. The event was believed by many to be the catalyst for Green Bay Packers to take the game completely away from Detroit Lions.
"I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches and my true fans for allowing the refs to have an opportunity to take me out of this game," Suh said. "What I did was remove myself from the situation the best way I felt."
Packers were leading 7-0 at the start of the third quarter through Greg Jennings second quarter touchdown from a three yard Aaron Rodgers pass. Suh was shown in replays fighting on the ground with Smith and then getting up to stomp
Smith’s arm which led to his ejection.
With Lions a man down, Green Bay turned the s***w and had a 24-0 lead at the end of the third with Rodgers throwing his second touchdown pass, a 65 yard scorcher to James Jones to take complete control of the game.
Lions scored their first points early in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late as an underwhelming performance at home pegged their record back to 7-4. They will face New Orleans Saints next Sunday on December 4th.
Green Bay Packers have now extended their run to 11-0 this season and are 17 games unbeaten since a December 2nd 7-3 loss against Detroit Lions last season. With their quest to become just the second team to go an entire
season unbeaten in the National Football League on track, Packers will next face off New York Giants on December 4th in game week 13.
