  1. My money would be on the lion. Though some species of bear, like the polar and brown bear, can weigh more than lions, most of their weight comes from their large, heavy skeletons and considerable amount of body-fat. By contrast, a lion's skeleton is quite small given the size of the animal, and its body-fat is minimal - most of its weight comes from its enormous musculature. Lions have evolved to hunt prey considerably larger than they are - they have to be immensely strong in order to bring down animals like buffalo. They also have much larger canines than bears, and the shortened muzzle and large sagittal crest on the skull gives them more powerful jaws. Not to mention their eighteen razor-sharp claws (bears' claws are non-retractile, and therefore blunt from constant contact with the ground). Brown bears, on the other hand, are largely vegetarian. They will occasionally take meat, but it is usually either carrion or young, inexperienced animals that are easy to catch. Polar bears are the most carnivorous of the bears, but again their prey - seals - are considerably smaller than they are, meaning they do not require as much strength to kill them.

  2. Even though they are both tough animals...

But, I'm leading towards the bear, depends on what kind too. If you're talking about a Grizzly, then it would win easily.

A typical male lion in the wild will weigh in between 400 and 600 pounds. Wild male grizzly can top out near 1,500 pounds, and captive grizzlies can weigh well over a ton. Even tigers top out at less than half the weight of a grizzly. Lions are known as pure predators and grizzly as omnivores, but grizzly have been documented hunting and killing deer, elk, moose, cattle, bulls and buffalo. They look slow and lumbering, but are fast enough and maneuverable enough to chase down and kill their chosen prey over open ground. Lastly the tremendous shoulder strength of the grizzly allows it to crush the skulls and spines of its prey with swipes of its claws. The lion might be the alpha predator of Africa, but it is totally outclassed by the Grizzly.

But you never know, since both are from very different continents

  3. It will never naturally takes place since the Two animal lives

in different continent. If you put both of them in one cage big enough

for fighting one on one, i think Bear is the winner.

  4. I think a lion would. Also depends on whether it is a brown bear or grizzly or black bear.

  5. It depends on where the animal lives and what species like if it was a polar, grizzly, or brown bear they'll win in a place with a temperature for both to live in but overall the bear would win by a landslide leaving the lion wounded.

  6. lions, there are stronger pound to pound, and are much faster and have claws as sharps as knives.

  7. The bear would win the fight. The lions have retractable claws while the bears have non-retractable paws, always ready for battle. Eventually, and at considerable cost, African lions were brought in to raise the stakes. The most fierce of the adult males was sent in whilst the grizzly was already waiting in the pits. The lion was known for bravely charging straight in and looked good for the money, but the grizzly killed a male lion almost as easily as he’d killed the bull.

  8. I think a bear would win. It can stand on its hind legs, and still use its claws and fangs. Plus the bear is super heavy.

  9. A lion is much more agile and cunning. It knows how to fight, especially female lions. Lions have a certain technique to fighting.

Don't get me wrong, bears are fierce, but lions just take the gold.

    :)

  10. I believed a Lion would defeat a Bear due to the difference in fighting style. Grizzlies are only slightly larger then Lions, but these as all great cats are better armed, and deadlier then Bears. It would largely depend on how the Bear behaves that would determine the outcome.
