Warriors had a punishing first day for their Sunfoil Series clash against Lions, getting clobbered for 275 runs after taking only seven wickets at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
Lions, who chose to bat, got off to an opening stand of 14 before they lost their first wicket on the demise of GH Bodi, who faltered after scoring 13 runs off 21 deliveries.

While Cook did most of the scoring, Z de Bruyn became the next wicket to fall after scoring five runs. By this time, the Lions had scored 173.
Gqamane then struck to dismiss Cook, who hit the showers after moulding a sensational knock of 95 runs, leaving his side standing on 176.
This was a remarkable comeback by the Warriors as they now had shattered the confidence of the batting side, bringing a shocking decline in the run rate.
