Lip Piercing removal....!?

Question

I got my lip pierced roughly seven months ago and I was having some scar tissue issues with it. When I went to my dentist he said that I could have a Plastic Surgeon remove and/or close the piercing in which there would be very little scarring. I was just curious if anyone knows how much this procedure would cost? And how long the healing process is?

personally, i would just take it out and see where the healing goes from there because the hole will close up on it's own so you don't need a surgeon to sew it shut. any plastic surgery is bound to be costly.

I wouldn't have it removed in case you get an infection - which sometimes can be very deadly and cost a huge amount in hospital bills that no HMS will cover.
