Lip Ring, pros, cons, etc?

Question

PLEASE, DON'T TELL ME NOT TO GET A LIP RING. I JUST WANT A LIP AND SOME INFO ABOUT IT. THANK YOU :D I would really appreciate info from someone who's done this before, has pierced people, or knows someone close.

I want someone who can tell me the PROs and CONs of having one. I need educated answers. Also, I have a few questions of my own.

+ What does the hole look like when the ring is out, and everything in your lip is healed? Is it noticeable? how fast does it close up?

+ If I ever decided to take it out, what will the scar be like? I have a friend of a close friend, and she's had her bottom and her top lips pierced four times or so, at different times, and she doesn't have any scars.

+ When I first get it pierced, do I have to have a stud or can I move to a ring directly?

Some cons I've already thought about are the whole stereotype/judge thing. I'm a pretty average looking person, jeans and a tee-shirt does it from me, and I'm not interested in becoming involved in any cliches. Had anything like this been a problem for you, assuming you've had a lip piercing?

Honest, It doesn't hurt much at all. I can't really tell that theres a hole in my lip when I take it off(Which is rarely). I wash my mouth and have sort of a guard for the teeth behind the ring. I had pierced my own lip with a needle and it closed up. I was mad, and I used a thicker needle to open it up. I left a stud in it so it could heal around it then bought a ring from the mall.I only did this cause my mom wouldn't let me get and type of piercing ever, so I did it at home. They look kool and I don't see any major problems exept when eating or making out.

lol get a lip ring if you want to .. my cousin got it done and they're pros+cons

pro= could look pretty could

con=infection

con=kissing?!

Pro: Piercings own.

Con: For having a lip piercing, you will automatically be called "emo"

Pro: You can turn around and say to them, "at least i have the balls to get a piercing"

Pros:

umm... it looks good sometimes? I don't know. xD

Cons:

It can wear away your tooth enamel and cause receding gums.

If you fall or get into a car accident it will most likely smash the teeth behind it and go right through your lip.

A lot of people still don't like to hire people with facial piercings.
