Question:

Lip going numb when I bite?

Starting yesterday, when I bite with the left side of my mouth the left half of my bottom lip goes numb. I don't really know what could cause this.. I got my wisdom teeth out a month ago and they talked about the possibility of accidentally hitting a nerve, but there's only a 1% chance of that happening. Plus, that was a month ago, I don't see why randomly after I'm healed and everything that would suddenly kick in, but I don't really know what else could contribute to it.

Anybody have something similar to this happen?

  1. ask yoour dentist or doctor or parents that never happeneed to me

  2. It hurts so much biting the side of your mouth that it just SEEMS like your lip is going numb    ;P    :)

  3. if u want it to stop going numb... stop biting ur lip

  4. Im not a doctor or anything, but it sounds like a pinched nerve to me.

  5. you might just be hitting a prime spot in your mouth that causes the blood circulation to completely cut off... or you could be biting the nerve.

for instance, there are nerves that connect from various points in your body.  i have a few spots that if i scratch on my leg, i feel a jolt in my back.  i talked to a doc about it years ago and he said that was normal... after all, the pathways our nerves stretch over are long, winding, and twisted.
