i have a few questions about lip piercings.

i'm thinking about getting one in high school or later.

from what i heard, the piercing process is very painful.

does it hurt really that bad?

will it feel different when i kiss guys?

i'm a preppy kinda girl, so i'm afraid it won't look good.

also, how long til it actually heals?

thanks alot:D

  1. I have a labret and it didn't really hurt much at all, just a pinch.  They did put numbing stuff on it first though.

And I've had mine since I was 13 and I'm almost 21 now, so I can't really say if it feels different when kissing because I hadn't kissed yet at 13, so I've always had my lip ring in whenever I've kissed.

I don't quite remember how long it took to heal, I'm thinking it was maybe a month or two.

  2. The piercing process is not very painful at all.  I have my labret pierced and my monroe.  Neither of which were very painful at all.  Just a pinch and it was over.

When I got mine done, it did not feel any different at all.  But then again I have a stud, it might be different if you have a hoop.

It you are afraid that it will not look good find a little hoop and stick it where you want your piercing to be and wear it around and see how you like it.

If you got it done you could get a really small stud like this and I think it would look fine. http://a622.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima...

If you are the preppy type but you want something around your lips I suggest maybe looking into a monroe.

It takes 2 to 3 months to fully heal.

  3. I dont have a lip ring but i suggest not getting one on ur lip because it looks very tacky,......im cool with them because im not a prep but if ur the bouncy preppy girl it would not look good. and yes they do feel diffrent when u kiss somebody and that person may or may not like it

  4. ive done my lip 3 times, none of them hurt at all.

but if your a preppy kind of person, then chances are it wont look good, a lot of people will call you a poser and such, so i dont advice you to get one, and it takes a few weeks to heal

  5. i have two both on the same side

it doesn't hurt at all so who ever told you thought was lieing no one i ever have talked to has said it hurt

it doesn't feel different kissing a guy in anyway

even if hes the one with the lip piercing

niether of mine hurt any worse then getting my ears pierced

  6. Experiences first, I guess. -- I just got my lip done yesterday for the first time, and I've known a lot of people over my years that have had their lips done [both professionally and non-profesionally.] .. [but I'd suggest professinally.=) ]

It doesn't really hurt at all. The place I went to made me swish the inside of my lip with mouthwash beforehand and it numbed it a little. But it didn't hurt any worse than an ear piercing; not even that bad, actually. The guy said that a lot of people come in thinking that it's going to hurt so bad because it's on your face, when it doesn't even hurt as much as stubbing your toe!

It might feel different when you kiss guys, but from what I've heard [and experienced with guys that have lip rings] it's actually quite nice of a sensation if you notice it at all. You might get a little jolt from the cold metal, and that'll actually make you get into it more.

You're preppy.. so what? I've seen a lot of preppy girls that have lip piercings. It all depends on how you wear it. If you get a small, cute stud in your lip, then not only is it not extremely noticeable; but it also looks really cute.

In general it can take from two months to two years for your lip to actually heal completely. After about a month, though; you can swap the original lip jewelry for another, more snug one [since there won't be anymore swelling]. The rare occasion that it takes a year, is when someone poorly takes care of it, and spins it constantly -- because that defers the ability for your lip to make scabs on the inside walls of the hole and to heal nicely.

Like I said, I've only had mine since yesterday; but it hasn't changed my life all that much. The only difference is that I haven't mastered drinking out of a cup normally, nor have I been able to take pain killers. But the pain killer part is because they interfere with my personal ability to heal good.
