Lip piercing reduce gums.?

how long does that take for it to do it? and chipping the teeth? mine doesnt rub on my gums it rarely sometimes hits my teeth not much tho, when i smile it does . how long does it take for it to reduce the gums?

It can depend also on your oral hygiene and the amount of pressure it puts on the gums and it can take a few months up to a year
