i recently got my lip pierced and had to stop cleaning it because it bled badly every time i did i left it and it didn't bleed for 2 days then i ate a bit of chewing gum and it started to bleed again.

any advice you want to offer please do

the reason it bleeds is because in the first few days of getting it done i played with it like moving it around etc and i think i broke the scab

  1. my advice: remove it!!! do you want your kids to see you like that? your grand kids??

  2. I've had snakebites before and this never happened to me.

Maybe take it out or see a doctor?

    If you don't want to.

    Just keep cleaning.

  3. You need to clean it every day. It is not healing because you're not caring for it properly.

Use Listerine after every time you eat, drink, smoke, chew gum, etc.

    Use mints instead of gum

Rinse your mouth at least 2 - 3 times a day with a sea salt/water solution.... 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of warm water, let the salt dissolve, then swish it in mouth like mouthwash

Gently clean the outside of the piercing with liquid Dial soap and rotate the ring twice a day.

If it continues bleeding consistently during cleaning, see your doctor.

Good luck and enjoy your piercing!

  4. Find friends who don't think it's cool.

  5. take it out now and go to see a doctor my friand!!

  6. you actually want to move it around a little bit a couple days after getting it done that way it doesnt get stuck and you wont be able to move it at all...

try it again and put some of the cleaning solution of a Q-Tip and wipe around the red areas.

  7. You should definitely keep cleaning it but maybe a try a less irritating method.  I don't know what you have been doing to clean it so far but when I had my lip pierced I just bought a bottle of contact/saline solution aka salt water and since it is easy to squirt out I would just lean over the sink and rinse my lip, inside and out, it worked really well for me, other than that try not to touch it.

  8. You should definitely keep cleaning it. Use unscented Dial soap to clean the ring and then rinse it really well before moving it around so you dont get the soap suds into the open wound. Sometimes Neosporin can be a god-send but it depends on what the piercer recommended for that particular piercing.

First and foremost, keep it clean and if you're going to move it or touch it, wash your hands first!!!

  9. It is bleeding a little now compared to what it used to probably because some of it has healed. [:

  10. do not do it! they look horrible and can easily get infected like all peircings!

    get a hobby instead

  11. Ok, alot of people on here obviously have no piercings and are very conceited.

As it's still in the healing process, keep cleaning it, even though it will likely bleed.

It's still sensitive to knocks and such, so just be extra careful.

You are meant to move it about so the skin doesn't start growing over it, believe me, that hurts alot.

  12. My lip is pierced and that has never happened to me. Mine just got red. take it out! i know they are cool but u can always get it redone!
