Question:

Lipstick color suggestions?

I'm looking for some good red lipsticks/lip-liners, any recommendations?

I've heard raves about MAC's MAC Red, Ruby Woo, Russian Red, Lady Danger and Chanel Rouge Allure in Lover and Passion.

I'm Chinese with medium-fair yellow skin, cool undertones, jet black hair, and have quite pigmented lips (about the same color as TBS Clover Pink lip-liner) so usually anything lighter than my lip color doesn't show up at all. Oh ya I have quite dry lips and have found most lipsticks to be drying on me, although I do use a chapstick before application.

What kind of red (bluish, pinkish, berry, etc) would look good on me? Any other non-red lipstick color that would suit me?

I'm planning to stock up on lipstick colors, so all suggestions will be greatly appreciated! :)

  1. I like Lancome lipsticks, Revlon are really nice, and Rimmel. Go with a more deep red shade if your lips are already pretty dark, or a rich pink berry. Go to the drugstore and shop around, see what you like. Also, you could try a more brown or purply shade if youre adventureous :)

For blush, maybe a rosy pink? It depends, if youre Chinese your skin tone is probably neutral, so it has yellows and pinks in it, although not necessarily. I fin for that skin tone that light pinks blushes work best, not peachy ones or reddish ones. If blush is too dark, it sometimes ends up looking cheap. :S

You might want to ry a bronzer instead, which (assuming you have dark brown hair) might go better with your hair colour.

  2. MAc lipsticks in Chili(a warm deep red), Dubonnet( a bright wine red), and deep love(deep red brown)

Brighten each color by applying lustregalss in instant gold(a light shimmery gold tone)

    Hope it helps:-)

  3. MAC's Ruby Woo is such a great color. It will look good on you :)))

  4. ok i would say a really light pink would suit your needs to be honest semeing as how you have desribed your facial experiance we would want to go to the dark toned colours

  5. MAC's Russian Red is my absolute favorite red lipstick. I'd recommend that or Ruby Woo since they're blueish reds and I find that those pop a little more on cooler skin tones. I'm pretty sure they make their tinted lipglass in the Russian Red too, which might be good for your dry lips.

MAC's original Viva Glam color is also a great blueish red and the proceeds from the sales of those go to a good cause :)

  6. MAC's Ruby Woo is an amazing color! Givenchy lipstick really moisturizes your lips, even though it's quite expensive I think it's worth it.
