Liquid Chocolate Expire?

Question

I have a container of liquid chocolate still wrapped and sealed from the manufacturer. I've had it for one year. I bought it for a chocolate fountain and didn't need to use all of it so I have one left over. I've kept it in the pantry. Is it still good?

I sure it had an expiration date on the can somewhere, but if it were that easy you wouldn't have asked.  I'll assume it doesn't or it is over the date.

I am quite sure that it is perfectly safe to eat.  The amount of sugar in the chocolate prevents bacteria growth.  And with no available oxygen to use it couldn't get far if it wanted to.  As for the taste though, that may have suffered.
