  1. since you've never worn eye liner before i would go with a pencil instead

and try a brown color over black since you have fair skin.

but if your set on liquid,

    try MACs liquid eyeliner

its a little pricey but you'll love it.

or for a lower end product, ive tryed wet and wild liquid eyeliner and was happy with it.

    just try some stuff out

    :)

  2. its hard for me everytime i use it i take forever putting it on lol well for some people its easy and for others its harder. Usually what i do is line the top with a pencil eyeliner then i go over it with liquid eyeliner and it makes it easier for me.

If you put it on the bottom it'll look like too much n it will sting ur eyes.

Maybeline works pretty good and they also have water proof.

I think darker eyeshadows look nicer with liquid liner. just not too much eyehadow though.

Well heres a video to demonstrate how put liquid eyeliner on.

    Hope i helped! =]

  3. liquid is not that hard to use. put it on top to elongate your eye, or on the outer half of your eyes (top and bottom) to make them look bigger around. just be sure to get it very close to your lash line. i like the revlon with the felt tip like applicator (as opposed to the brush like ones) its more stable. for fair skin use a brown shade for a less dramatic effect. if its still to harsh of a lline for you then use an angled brush to blend it some.

  4. i'd go with a pencil liner, liquid is just so messy and hard

and the color of your shadow has nothing to do with the type of liner

  5. ya kinda cuz u need a steady hand

    only the top lids

    grey eyeshadow and mayballine

start out with pencil eyeliner and not too thick

  6. yeah. it's annoying. and it usually looks whorish if it's not done right. i would go with regular eyeliner, and maybe ease into liquid.

  7. it's pretty hard to use when you're first getting the hang of it but it gets easier after a while. when you start you can first use a regular pencil to make a straight line then go over it with liquid so you can get used to making straight lines. =)

most people only put it on their eyelids but i like to put a little under my eyes too.(under my waterline) don't put it on your waterline or else it will sting like crazy and end up in your eyes. i use meybelline ultra liner and i like it because its waterproof and it doesn't smear like pencil. don't use too  much or it'll look bad. hope this helped

  8. i use lancome liquid liner

it was hard to use at first but you get used to it, just keep practicing, do small strokes across the lid, not one single stroke

try a dark brown color and it can only be worn on the top lid

try a more natural eye shadow with a dramatic eye liner like a tan or shimmering beige

  9. Yes, liquid eyeliner is the hardest of the eye liner family to use, but it is also the most professional looking one, too. It looks silky, smooth, and tres chic! :]

What I recommend, though, for someone who is just starting out is to get a hold of both a pencil eyeliner and a liquid one. Outline/color in with the pencil eyeliner first, then go over it with the liquid. I personally love this method because no one really has a steady hand to apply the stuff at first, but just covering it with the liquid will train your hand to the basic curve and idea of applying it. And don't worry about not being able to see where you're applying over your penciled liner, because liquid liner has a shiny texture when going on, so you can tell right away want needs to be gone over and what doesn't.

I started doing what I explained above because I'd use my regular eye liner and it'd always smudge on my brow bone! [So annoying, haha.] So I'd use the liquid eye liner as a "sealer" to keep it from smudging and I've come to love it so much that I dropped the pencil liner altogether and only use the liquid!

I suggest that you only do liquid liner on the top lid, because by putting it on the bottom, you're at high-risk of it running [yes, running, they look like black tears and ruin everything in it's path!]. If you absolutely insist on putting liner on the bottom, use your good 'ole friend the pencil liner [of the same color, traditionally] and use that just on the bottom and liquid on the top.

I don't really have a brand to recommend because I use all different types and can't really tell one from another, other then applicators. However, currently I'm using the Wet n' Wild brand, that I already know other people have strong distaste in. It's the best kind for people starting out, I believe, because it's cheap and less of a loss if you find out that you don't like it.

As for eyeshawdow, it really depends on the color of liner you're using. If you're using black, you can use ANY color [I love black]! If you're heading towards a brown liner, then pinks, purples, anything that contrasts well without drowning out the liner OR your eye color! Yes, eye color plays a big role in your eye shadow selection! Have you ever seen those little makeup sets that include eyeshadow for a specific eye color? Take a look at those for colors that compliment your eyes!

Finally, if you're having a problem applying eyeliner in general, I suggest a general YouTube tutorial search. There's a ton of makeup how-to's on there that'll blow your socks off! :] Just look for "liquid eye liner tutorial" or just "eye liner tutorial". You can adjust the search as needed, and I wish you the best of luck!

    Hope I helped! :]

  10. I Like Kat Von D's Liquid Eyeliner. Urban Decay's Liquid Eyeliner Is Really Good Too. Yeah, It's Only For The Top Lids. If Your Trying To Keep It Simple Just Use The Eyeliner & Some Mascara. The Color Of The EyeShadow Will Depend On Your Own Personal Style But Also The Color Of The Eyeliner.

  11. actually liquid liner is easy if you know how to apply in the right way. of course, some of them apply in the top lids to create a poppy eyes. when choosing a liquid liner, make sure the tip ( brush) is not too hard or too smooth. if it is hard, it makes you difficult to glide it. so, it must be bendable. there are many good brands out there like The Body Shop,Bobbi Brown, Cover Girl, MAC..... their liquid liner is everlasting and waterproof too. slowly draw the liquid in an even line ( make sure that the line follows the shape of your upper lid). any shadow goes best for your skin as it is FAIR. apply liquid liner once you shade your eyes. GUD LUCK

  12. well it would be a good idea to start off with an eyeliner pencil since you have never worn eyeliner before.

liquid eyeliner can be tricky if you don't have a steady hand. depending on what color eyeliner you have, it's fairly easy to accidentally make the line too thick, resulting in a rather unpleasant "raccoon" effect. because you have fair skin, i would suggest holding off on black eyeliner until you have gained some experience with using other colors that are less dramatic.

eyeliner is available in many different colors. if you are trying to achieve a natural look that subtly enhances your eyes, i would recommend using gold eyeshadow with brown eyeliner applied to the top lid and the outside corners of the bottom lids. make sure to keep the eyeliner line thin and not too thick. mascara could also be implemented at this point, but only on the top lids. (it could also be applied to the outside lower lashes, but make sure to keep it on the lashes and off the skin beneath them.)

for nighttime eyes, once you get the hang of eyeliner, use black and fun colors of eyeshadow. go crazy with it :) use makeup tips from magazines if this wasn't specific enough.

i would recommend clinique cream shaper for eyes. they have a wide selection of color choices and the pencil is soft, which solves the problem of the pencil scratching the eyelid. they have great eye makeup remover as well that doesn't sting your eyes and gets the makeup off quickly. MAC has a huge selection of eyeshadows, and once you're ready, they also have great liquid liners. once you start using liquid liners, be sure and stay true to your lash line and dont leave skin in between your lashes and the line or else the end result will leave you dissatisfied. be patient once you start with liquid liners...it'll be worth it. they tend to give cleaner lines and a more dramatic look.

    hope i helped :)

  13. I like pencil better, because it is less precise to put on. Only on the top lids. Its black, so it will go with anything. Don't put too much on if you have fair skin, you will look goth.

  14. I'm 15 and I have kinda fair skin too. and I don't wear lots of makeup either. The first time I used eyeliner it was liquid (and black :P, now I use brown- it's Dior) (I've never actually USED an eye pencil) but liquid was really easy for me.. (Don't know why...) so just play with it when you have time and aren't in a hurry/ going somewhere really soon. and don't overdo it, and it'll all be fine. :P

  15. It takes some practice to get it as thin or thick as you want, and also what kind of brush/applicator is being used. I would only recommend using the liquid eyeliner on the top lip because it may not be waterline safe. For your waterline, I would recommend using a pencil. Some good brands I recommend are Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner and prestige liquid eyeliner, if you are on a budget. But if not, then Dior liquid eyeliner. It goes well with any color eyeshadow, really, depending on how heavy your look is.

But for a light skinned 15 year old like you who does not wear a lot of make up, I would only use some mascara and eyeshadow. If you do want to wear eyeliner, I would say to use a brown eyeliner because it is not as harsh as the black and because of your fair skin.

I personally use cream liner more to line my eyelid, from L'oreal HIP, because it is easier to handle.

  16. its not hard to use, but it does take lots of practice to get it right. you only use it on your top lids..not your waterline. if you do that it will sting your eye and get in your eye. you can use any color eyeshadow you want with it...there are different colors of liquid liner as well. so do as you feel fit.

my advice though is to PRACTICE! lots of girls dont know how to do it properly and it ends up looking really horrible...so practice alot and do a thin line...thick eyeliner lines look trashy.

    good luck!

  17. Yea, it's very hard. And it burns. But once you get the hang of it it's totally worth it. I put it on the bottom also, but be very careful. follow your bottom lashes very lightly. DO NOT do you water line, it runs into your eye.

Btw I absolutely love wet n wild.

Just use black and some mascara, that's what I do. Keep it simple until you get the hang of it.

    :]

    EDIT:::

    to take off::

use a cottonball. wet it with water rub off the eyeliner, then dry your eye.

if you still have some left on your eye or get raccoon eyes no problem, use petroleum jelly. close your eye rub it on and rinse it off.

    works amazingly.

and is wayyy cheaper then those eye make up remover lotions.

  18. well it is if you`re really shaky and what not.

I use it on both top and bottom lids, it works so much better than regular eyeliner cause .. with regular it tends to smear a lot during the day , and with liquid , it lasts all day. I use water proof eyeliner , works awesome !

  19. It all depends, mainly on the tip or the brush type. Some have a really thin  brush that can be runny when you first put them on. While others have kind of a sharpie tip to it. If  you try it, the sharpie tip is what you want. But, from how you describe your skin, I don't think you need a dark color eye liner ( which usually is the color of most liquid eyeliner).  Warm shades would probably bring out your eye more.  go for light or medium brown eye liner. Maybe a little mascara or eye shadow.

  20. fair skin and liquid liner doesnt really mix

you should use a dark brown pencil

(not black. it will make you look scary if ur skin is light)

and yes. it is hard to apply. i wouldn't recommend it to a beginner

  21. you should try mark. on the edge eyeliner. it's only 5 dollars and it's easy to use! and you could try to magnetic eye shadows they have. you can mix and match colors and they just snap to the case and are very easy to take out. it's all so affordable too since there's no shipping!!

  22. PENCIL IS BETTER

  23. it is harder to use liquid eyeliner then a regular pencil.. and liquid eyeliner is dramatic because it goes on dark and i would say start with a lighter color first like a brown or a charcoal
