Are liquid fabric softeners bad for the environment? I'm trying to use more environmentally friendly products in my home and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

Thanks.

  1. liquid or powder is irrelevant, what's more important is the content of these fabric softeners.

most commercial fabric softeners use harsh and toxic chemicals which are bad for the environment and also not always good for humans to be in contact with.

it would be best to opt for a brand like ecover or seventh generation, or there are even simpler options like using baking soda or vinegar (this is what i do!) to soften the clothes naturally.

do some reading and find reviews of these products to see what sounds good to you. it's great that you're trying to be more environmentally conscious!

  2. No they are better for the environment. This is because the sheets are bad for the air and the particles float around and give people trouble breathing. I use downy lavender and vanilla liquid softener.

    It smells so good....

  3. You don't need fabric softeners.  Using unessesary things is bad for the enviroment.
