Needs bourbon IMO, Makers Mark is a safe choice.  You can drink it straight as well as in several delicious (and pretty popular) mixed drinks.

Cheap vodka,

Cheap anything for that matter cause when people you don't really like come by and ask for a drink you don't want to be giving them anything good.

If you feel like it you could get different flavor liquors or go the mudshake mix stuff. The shakers one.
