Lisa Fissneider wins Women’s 50m breast-stroke semi-final: 2011 FINA World Junior Championships
Italy’s Lisa Fissneider impressed the arena on day one of the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships in the semi-final heat in Lima, Peru, on Tuesday, August 16. The session of the meet conducted Women’s 50m breast-stroke and Men’s 100m back-stroke semi-finals.
In the Women’s 50m breast-stroke semi-final, Fissneider earned top spot with a winning time of 31.77 seconds. Claire Polit of France wound up second with a sterling time of 31.99 seconds, while Sarah Haase of United Stated earned third place honours with
an impressive mark of 32.01 seconds.
Kanako Watanabe of Japan wound up fourth in a time of 32.08 seconds. Mariya Chekanovych of Canada was placed with a time of 32.23 seconds, while Laura Simon of Germany finished sixth in a time of time of 32.44 seconds. In the corresponding meet, KC Moss
of United States wound up seventh with a mark of 32.83 seconds and Jodie Hawksworth of Great Britain earned eighth position in 32.91 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m back-stroke semi-final heat, Fabio Laugeni of Italy finished first with a winning mark of 55.47 seconds. Jacob Pebley of United States wound up second with an impressive time of 55.58 seconds, while Jack Conger of US earned third place
honours with a matchless time of 55.73 seconds
 In the corresponding race, Kosuke Hagino of Japan wound up fourth with a time of 55.90 seconds, whereas, Christian Diener of German earned fifth place honours with a mark of 55.94 seconds.
Joshua Beaver of Australia wound up sixth with a time of 55.96 seconds, while Omar Arafa of Canada settled seventh in 56.12 seconds. Henrique Machado of Brazil earned eighth place in a time of 56.54 seconds. Alexand Theocharidis of Greece wound up ninth
in a time of 56.59 seconds, while Niccolo Bonacchi of Italy wound up tenth in 56.80 seconds.
In the respective splash, Jeffrey Swanston of Canada was placed eleventh with a mark of 56.85 seconds and Mateusz Wysoczynski of Poland earned twelfth place honours with a mark of 56.98 seconds. Yan Jin of China finished thirteenth in a time of 57.06 seconds,
while Igor Sorokin of Russia settled fourteenth in 57.82 seconds. Jie Zhang of China earned fifteenth position in a time of 58.29 seconds. Last, but not the least, Bogac Ayhan of Turkey wound up sixteenth in a time of 58.48 seconds.
