The Lyon captain is far from pleased with the club’s decision to sell their star players, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cris-c9486, leaving the French club this summer
Les Gones have overhauled their squad for the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign. Several star players have already left the club and more are expected to leave before the end of the transfer window.
And club captain, Lisandro Lopez, is not happy with the ongoing situation at the club. While talking to reporters, the Argentine international stated that it’s sad to see players leaving and it could harm Lyon’s chances this season.
The 29-year-old added that he has spent a lot of time with these guys and to see them leave like this is frustrating. After playing so many games together, players get fond of each other, and saying goodbye is not the easiest of the things.
"You know, I've spent three years with these guys, so to see them leave one after the other makes me a bit sad. We have experienced some great times together, and there have been some tough times as well."
However, Lopez added that he is aware of the fact that he is the captain of the side, and he must not get too attached with other players.
"Above all, I'm fully aware of the fact I have to be professional and not get too attached to other people," he explained.
The 29-year-old added that the club has to move on and players need to focus on football, and the Argentinean feels that OL has what it takes to become the champions of France this season.
Lopez, who has only won a single French Cup with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 in his three-year affiliation with the club, is hoping to add more silverware to his profile.
"Life goes on. The club carries on as well and you have to keep the same ambition and motivation. I have the same desire to fight, win matches and hopefully win some trophies with the club."
Being captain of the side is a huge responsibility, and the prolific striker is looking forward to guide Les Gones to become a formidable force in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 once more.
