While giving an interview to a local newspaper, Olympique Lyonnais striker Lisandro Lopez spoke about rivals Paris Saint-Germain’s new-found wealth and also gave a few hints on his future at the Rhone club.
Since his arrival at seven-time Ligue 1 champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, Argentine international Lisandro Lopez has proven to be an integral part of Les Gones side.
For three years, the Argentine was unable to win any silverware for Lyon under Claude Puel. However, the Argentine might be able to get his hands on some silverware under the guidance of Remi Garde. The start of the new campaign saw Lyon miss the services
of Lopez due to injury.
However, since his return, Lopez has once again proven his importance and value to the team by scoring six goals in nine Ligue 1 games.
While talking to a local newspaper, Lopez spoke a bit about archrivals Paris Saint-Germain and the resources at their disposal that have made them a key player in the transfer market.
However, Licha is certainly now over awed by PSG’s resources. The 28-year-old believes that PSG are a serious threat to Lyon’s hopes of winning back the Ligue 1 Championelle. However, Lopez also feels that the Parisians will never be guaranteed of silverware
just by spending money on the best players in the world.
“Paris has a lot of money to recruit, but it does not guarantee them to be champions. A new coach came in and new players as well so they have to work hard. What is certain is that all the money PSG have does not guarantee them the title,” said Lisandro
Lopez.
While talking about his own future, Lopez said that he is happy at Lyon and is certainly not looking to make a move away from the Stade de Gerland.
“I have a two and half year contract. There are things to be won. I feel good at OL. But, of course, it worries me (lack of funds). You always want to play in a competitive club with great players. I trust them and there is nothing to be alarmed at yet.
I hope that things will improve.”
Though Lisandro is happy at the club, he is also keen to see the club’s finances to settle down in order to compete with the likes of PSG and Lille who are arguably the most active French clubs in the transfer market with the Parisians leading the race.
