Lisandro Lopez on his way to England

Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been reported to be in the works, to try and lure the Argentinean goal machine Lisandro Lopez to their teams respectively.
Harry Redknapp, who has been in the market to try and bring in at least one more striker to his side, had in the past been linked to Sevilla's Luis Fabiano. However, with that deal not really following through, the manager has
instead turned his attention to Lisandro Lopez.
Liverpool who are currently facing some serious problems, have identified their lack of quality strikers to be one of the more prominent problems at the club. With Fernando Torres being the only real World class striker in the
team, they have decided to try and bring in Lopez to the side as early as January, once the transfer window opens up again.
Lyon who are the current employers of Lopez, are reported to be willing to let the striker leave the team, if a decent offer is made for the player. The decent offer that Lyon have in mind is said to be around the region of fourteen
million pounds; which seems like an awful lot for a twenty seven year old striker, but still seems appropriate when you consider just how good the player is.
The reason for Lyon being willing to let their prized asset leave, is due to the fact that the player recently had a bust up with the team’s manager and with neither one of the two really coming to terms with it, the player and
club have decided that it will be best if the forward pursued a career elsewhere.
Last season Lopez scored twenty four goals for the team, which is an exceptional record for a player who has just been brought into a side and asked to perform at the exact same level that he used to operate at in his previous
club.
At the current moment in time, the fairly obvious favourites to sign the player are the Spurs. This is of course keeping in mind the fact that Liverpool can still potentially end up being forced into administration, which if happens
will rule them out of making any player purchases in the near future. However if the team manages to resolve that issue and does manage to get a new owner, then Lopez will perhaps opt to move to a club with more history than Tottenham.
