The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 striker has been deployed as a midfielder in recent games by Remi Garde and has once again stated that he does not feel at home in his new role
Considered an essential part of the club by president Jean-Michel Aulas, the Argentine international has so far struggled to convince in his new role. The former Porto man has been deployed down the left in midfield by coach Remi Garde and the striker has
made no secret of his lack of enthusiasm while playing in this new role.
In the columns of Tribune OL, the striker from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 said that he has always played as a striker and he gets angry and frustrated when he is not able to get any goalscoring opportunities. Licha claims that playing in the left side of midfield does not
really help him in becoming an offensive threat to his team.
“It’s frustrating for me to play in middle left, not attacking left. Let me clear! I like to play alone or with another striker. Already in Porto, this was not always the case. Remi Knows. After that, the priority is the team. If I did not want or want to
accept more choices, it would have been different.”
Despite his preference to play as a striker, Lisandro Lopez maintains that he will do everything for his team’s cause. With four goals in nine games, one should not criticise Lopez’s performances. However, a striker’s main instinct is to go for goal which
Licha will never be able to do if he keeps playing as a midfielder.
For now, the Argentine is willing to sacrifice himself for the common good but after a while, the striker will want to be returned to his preferred position.
“I am happy at OL. I had offers to play elsewhere but I did not even respond to those demands,” says Licha.
However, things might change quickly in the coming months if the striker’s situation remains unchanged. In the meantime, coach Remi Garde would be willing to put Lisandro Lopez back in a position where he feels more comfortable in.
