Since his arrival at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 man spoke about the club’s policy
Since the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juninho-c20055, Lisandro Lopez has become the new incarnation of the soul of Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais. Upon his arrival at the Stade de Gerland, Lopez has captured the imagination of Les Gones faithful.
It must be said that the South American’s unparallel style and ability to score any time makes him the club’s greatest number 9. Licha has all qualities of becoming the darling of the fans but has always stayed away from the media eye and has rarely spoken
in public.
However, in a rare interview to RTL, the Argentine spoke about the club’s recent change in policy. Despite knowing that the club will no longer be able to attract big-name stars, Lisandro Lopez is committed to Lyon.
“In my head, I want to finish the season in July, and after the holiday, I will return to Lyon. On club policy, the strategy has changed a bit. There are fewer economic opportunities so the club puts faith on young players who do well.”
Lopez feels that the club has the right mixture of young and experienced players which is the reason why his side’s performances have not slipped.
Lopez also feels that strong management has led things to become easier for the younger players which allows them to give their 100% both in training and on matchday.
With Lyon set to play APOEL Nicosia in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, Lisandro Lopez wants his side to go far in the competition and even try to win it.
Les Gones might not finish in the top 3 in Ligue 1 this season as things stand and Lopez wants his side to do well in the Champions League. Lopez has played Champions League for the past seven years and has not lost hope of playing it again next season.
However, he has ruled out a move away from the club if Lyon fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
