Olympique Lyonnais striker, Lisandro Lopez, has gained a cult status at the Rhone club since his arrival a few years back. The Argentine spoke about the early days of his career and also spoke a bit about his future
Lisandro Lopez is the perfect definition of grinta – a term that South Americans usually use for playmakers and strikers.
The gifted Argentine has fought bravely throughout his career and sheer hard work is the only reason why he is where he is today. Lopez had to struggle throughout his adolescence and it was only his fierce determination that allowed him to live a dream that
many youngsters in South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 have.
Between the age of 15 and 18, Lisandro had to give a lot of trials to clubs in Buenos Aires which was 300 kilometres away from his village. Lopez used to travel so much just to play 15 minutes which was not very motivating at all.
“They told me that they were going to call me but no one ever called. You must imagine 2000 children who came to these trials. You could spend 15 minutes without touching a ball.”
His experience has now led him to share things with youngsters coming out of the training centre at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130.
“The club produces a lot of young players. In Argentina, there is no such thing. So when they are not satisfied they begin to do this and that. In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841, you have to play fifty games before landing your first pro contract.”
The wise man now continues to give valuable advice to the hopefuls at Tola Vologe. Under contract at the club until June 2014, Licha is still looking for another extension.
Lopez revealed that his intention is to stay at the club for a long time but also admitted that things can change quickly in football. Lopez gave the example of former teammate Toulalan who left the club after signing an extension.
“There are players who leave after extending, others of which we think it’s impossible for them to leave. Toulalan, for example, I thought would play for Lyon for a long time.”
