  9. I voted yes...of course. This Country couldn't survive without Europe and it is the most appalling arrogance to suggest otherwise. We need to be absolutely 100 % on board the European programme....otherwise it will be back to the days of mass emmigration;  no jobs; rubbish roads and the crappy old system that almost all of us had at some point in time to flee. Economically Ireland couldn't last 5 minutes on its own! We either take the European handouts....and by God have we taken plenty of them over the past 30 years...or the American handouts...[Dell/Intel/Microsoft/Kodak  ect etc}. In reality we have been sustained over the past decades by both. Indigenous irish industry...there is none!!  It is utter stupidity to hold up the European programme for a second longer. As  a people we need all the help and support we can get especially with America entering recession. The sooner we get to a United States of Europe the better. Then maybe our children will have a real future...

Oh! and if you think that things have always been as they were for the past ten years then either you are too young to remember how it really was{in which case, don't worry; it will be back soon]   or  you are radically underestimating the role outside forces [Europe & America} have played in the "Celtic Tiger".  Either way the reality is that Ireland could never feed it's people [and I'm not talking about the Famine here but something altogether more recent...eg life in  Ireland in the 70's/80's/90's). So yes..I voted Yes and if you voted No then you missed an opportunity to confirm something which is as inevitable as tomorrows rain.....Ireland as an independent economic power is a failed entity. It is supported only by the naive arrogance and bluster of a bunch of idiots who actually believe that anything the Irish do is important.  This is a crappy little island on the periphery of Europe which has never managed to independently support its people.  Without the support of Europe and the United States we wouldn't be able to pay the public service bills. Fortunately, the European Programme will continue apace despite the ridiculous posturing of one of europe's most dependent peoples, the passengers of Europe.  A No Vote just holds things up a little;  What a shame that we have to go through this ridiculous national posturing. Get real, Ireland....or starve!!!

  10. I voted yes

Well done seanl I have being saying the same thing for ages , we are now going to be back on the perepherals in europe just as we were in the 80s in the last decade our physical isolation from europe was no longer a problem, but i fear we are now seen as the outsiders in europe and our opinions wont count. Well done No voters you just did george bush a favour, he was worried Nato would become less powerful if the lisbon treaty was ratified.

We have now made powerful enemies in europe which were once friends.

  11. I voted NO because I hadn't a fecking clue what it was all about.....so confusing

  12. voted no...

  13. i voted no.

can't wait for the results after all the badgering my friends had to put up with. I didn't want them voting yes if they didn't understand what they were agreeing to.

is it sad that I am actually looking forward to 9am when they start counting the votes?

never taken an interest in political c**p before
