how can the treaty continue its ratification process if one country voted no.just because only 50% of the irish elctoate turned out and because we're a small influence does this mean we have no say in europe?if france or germany voted no the whole process would be halted, but because it's only little old ireland ,it still going ahead.

my question is,do you think it's OK to go ahead even though it is essential that every country in europe ratafies it and one country didn't?

is it not unfair to to the other europeans who aren't getting to vote?

what would you're vote have been if you were given the chance to vote?

  1. The people from the other countries should get mad at thier leaders for not allowing them to vote.  They need to disband the idea of a one controling body.  I would vote NO

  2. This whole EU Constitution is in trouble, and the politicos know it.  France, the Netherlands, and Ireland have all voted down UN Constitutions.  When these things come up to vote by the people, they're inevitably shut down.

And no, I don't see how this should continue.  I'd be more than a bit upset about it.  Not being able to have individual nations have veto rights is somethng I'd deplore.  That's an awful lot of personal autonomy lost to a lot of very old and very distinct cultures.  And without a popular vote by the populace?  No way, no how would I stand for that.

Granted, I'm an American, so I'm a touch libertarian and federalistic than at least continental Europe.  And also that fact that I have no say in things whatsoever.  ;)

I don't think this is very popular in the UK, either, man, at least among the people.  But they're going to ram it through Parliament.

The good news?  I'll bet the Czechs reject it, as well.  Vaclav Klaus is awesome!  Definitely my favorite foreign leader.  :)
