Lisnakill King stands first in Grade A2 480m race at Swindon
The black dog trained by D J Davy, Lisnakill King, narrowly accomplished first position after a rip-roaring competition in a Grade A2 race of 480m category at Swindon on January 16.
Whelped in July 2007, the triumphant dog ran against Tonetta Hill, Moody Mare, Keeperhill Hawk, Square Light and Tarty Toes.
It was a sensational race with Lisnakill King, and Tonetta Hill fighting hard for victory. Both hounds ran parallel for most of the time during the race.
With a few yards away from the boundary strap, nobody could tell who would finish first. The strong perception was that both the runners will end in a tie.
However, luckily, Lisnakill King showed enough legs right at the end and finished first, with the smallest margin of 0.1 seconds ahead of his opponent.
It was a mega triumph which impressed all at the venue.
The son of Westmead Eagle ended up with this spot for the 21st time since his debut on May 29, 2010. He was the most favourite runner, with a starting price of 5 to 2.
The trainer was pleased at the hard-earned success of his trainee, hoping a promising future for him.
Tonetta Hill, who was equal to Lisnakill King in terms of pace and stamina, finished second with a little difference.
After breaking from trap 4, the black and white b***h ran very well throughout the time and completed the distance in 29.40 seconds.
The trainee of S M Hughes seemed to be in great form, but luck was a little unkind on her that day. Whelped in November 2008, the daughter of Goes Wild started her career on October 4, 2010.
The third position went to Moody Mare, a black b***h trained by K R Hutton. Breaking from trap 2, she lacked the speed and stamina the front runners showed and lagged 2 ¼ lengths behind.
The daughter of Catunda Harry took 29.58 seconds to reach the finish line. She was whelped in September, 2009.
In the post-race prize distribution ceremony, Lisnakill King bagged £95 while each of the others gained £25.
As a whole, there was a great thrill and sensation in the race. The local spectators enjoyed the event a lot and the bookies, who had invested on Lisnakill King, were also satisfied to a great extent.
