Lisnakill Myles is far ahead of the competition in A2 win at Swindon
Lengths are always something to pay attention to in the 480m greyhound races at the Swindon Greyhound Stadium. Often, one of the dogs will shoot ahead of the others, resulting in a larger
number of lengths separating that dog from the next one.
The way Lisnakill Myles (4-1) ran in the first of two A2 races on the schedule, it was as if he was miles ahead of the other racers. He always led the pack after a strong start from trap
four, which resulted in a terrific 29.15 finish that gave him the win. Cut The Bags, the 8-1 long shot, surprised many with his second-place finish. He held an early pace, and went on to finish the race in 29.33, 2¼ lengths behind the winner.
Avit, the 2-1 favourite, took third place after crowding the run up. He posted a time of 29.37, which was just a ½ length out of second place. Fourth place went to Newgrange Byway (6-1).
He went wide, moved slowly away, and crowded first, but lost 3½ lengths in the process. He posted a time of 29.65.
Shepherd Moon (4-1) lay claim on fifth place after going wide and crowding first. He was a single length behind Newgrange Byway with his 29.73 finish. Finishing last was Halfwaytoheaven
(3-1), who experienced great difficulty in this race. He crowded the run up, but fell badly. As a result, he went on to finish in 32.13.
In the next A2 race, Faha Flight (7-2) flew to a strong finish. Coming out of trap three, she moved quickly away and continued to lead. She completed the race with a time of 29.25 to earn
the victory. Checking in with a second-place finish was Enchanted Cashel (4-1). After going wide, he went on to have a clear run, finishing 2¾ lengths out of the top spot in 29.47.
Rounding out the top three was third-place finisher Swift Moses (4-1). Despite being forced to check halfway and crowding third, he only lost ¾ lengths. He finished with a time of 29.53.
Kilrush Mary (5-1) crowded first, resulting in a 29.71 finish that placed her 2¼ lengths out of the top three.
Landing Hi (7-1) went wide and crowded first on the way to a fifth-place finish in 29.89. He was 2¼ lengths behind Kilrush Mary. Bringing up the rear was 2-1 favourite Dizzy Miss Lizzy.
She crowded third and went on to finish a head’s length out of fifth place in 29.90.
The greyhound races at Swindon Greyhound Stadium are set to resume on Wednesday 17 November. The first race of the evening is slated to begin at 18:28.
