List 10 ways that you will be a benefit to highway transportation system?

Highway transportation system is a network that interrelates man, machine, and environment for the common purpose of getting goods and people from one point to another safely, orderly, and efficiently.

Please give me <<at least>> 10 ways that you (or anyone) will be/is a benefit to the HTS. Please, describe each way if possible. (and/or give a website)

The highway transportation system (as you call it) is a medium for moving people and goods - just as air is a medium for airplanes and the sea for ships . The difference is that the HTS is man-made . If it were not there, we would still be using covered wagons and buggies and the landscape would be torn to shreds with ruts and erosion . Instead, the roads and highways are a benefit to me as a motorist for the reasons you explained . They are paid for and maintained by our taxes . The only &#039;benefits&#039; that people can provide to the HTS is to keep them clean and well maintained . That is essentially the function of a government (that collects the taxes) which is charged with the responsibility and has the resources to do so.

As a truck driver, I have to understand the highway transportaion system.  Otherwise, I can get myself into a jam or worse, make phone calls, file paperwork, &amp; make the local news.  

1.The truck I drive pays thousands of dollars in taxes &amp; fees every yr. to pay for the roads &amp; bridges.

2. I have to operate underneath federal Hours of Service regulations, so I can drive up to 11hrs a day &amp; work 70hrs in 8 days to reduce the chances of crashing due to fatigue.

3.  Most truck drivers obey traffic signs because they are warnings of potential problems, like low clearnance, roads not designed for their type of vehicle, etc.

4.  Many truck stops have certified scales to weigh our loads to prevent too much weight on an axle which can cause problems for our equipment or tear up the roads

5.  I. like many of my fellow truck drivers, keep our equipment maintained to reduce potential problems.
