Rather than waiting for the government to act, we should start by doing the little things we, as individuals, can control.  First of all, reduce the amount of energy we use day to day by:

1. Walk, ride a bike, car pool, etc. whenever possible.

2. Simply reduce the amount of "stuff" we buy across the board.  Before buying something, ask why you are buying it and if the purchase is really necessary.

It is time as we need to act responsibly before we can begin pointing fingers at others whether they run our government, run an oil company, drive a big vehicle, etc. when we are not doing all we can ourselves.

After all, who will listen to a crying, whining hypocrite?
