  1. 1. Increase taxes on the rich.

    2. Close corporate loopholes sending jobs overseas, allowing

       Americans to get these jobs.

    3. Making college education affordable (less poverty, less people on

        welfare)

    4. Affordable and accessible health care (less people suffering from

sicknesses that can be cured by hospitals or can be prevented

    5. Equal pay for equal work (less poverty)

What is McCain going to talk about...experience?  I gave him the benefit of the doubt until I saw that he selected Palin to further himself.  He didn't pick a qualified woman, he picked one that he could use and toss away.  Obviously all her scandals would not allow her to run for reelection.  Look at Edwards.  The Republicans ripped him to pieces about his affair.  Why can't Palin and McCain get the same scrutiny?  I'm not excusing Edwards, I'm saying that if you say that these moral failures disqualify Edwards for office, then the same should be said of McCain and Palin.  Obama and Biden are free of these scandals and not one Republican "evangelical" will congratulate them.  (The quotes are because a real Christian admits when he / she is wrong--and they don't, and they will never say a Democrat is right while I will because I actually liked McCain until he changed his positions on issues to run for president.)  If they didn't want these tragic circumstances to come out, they shouldn't have run for office.  I don't like it either, I like to stick to the issues.  But they brought out Obama's "lack of experience" instead of saying what McCain will do for us.  There are a lot of issues that they never talk about:  gas prices, education, healthcare, jobs, etc.  I think McCain should've stuck to the issues and this would never have happened.  Iraq, terrorism, Afghanistan, foreign policy aren't the only issues that should be on the table.  I'll say this again.  If McCain is more concerned about Iraq than the homeless, the kids sent off to die in Iraq, the drugs on our streets, immigration problems, education, and so on, he should run for president of Iraq and allow a better man to step forward.  A man who ensures that he never attacks McCain personally, never attacks Palin personally, a man who is attempting to support the middle class and poor who built this country, a man with class, intelligence, foresight and morals...all of which McCain lacks.  Obama...the next president of the United States!!!!

  6. Sounds like a homework assignment.  Okay, just off the top of my head:

    -- Responsible withdrawal from Iraq

-- Focus on enemies in Afghanistan

    -- Universal health care

    -- Middle class tax cut

-- Subsidies for education in exchange for public service

    -- Commitment to energy independence

MS S:  Regarding "dismantling the military," that's a very different question than the one you initially asked.  I watched the video you linked.  He's talking about eliminating wasteful spending on useless weapons programs.  He's also pledging to work toward nuclear nonproliferation and eventual nuclear disarmament, which has been a goal of every administration since the atom bomb was dropped.  Obviously he will not be able to complete the task overnight, nor does he promise to do so.  Even in the short clip, though, he lists some specific actions he will take.

I'm not sure if you're saying that he's promising results he can't achieve -- or if you're expressing alarm about the idea of living without nukes.

  7. He wants to begin on renewable energy and move us forward from big oil.Well its apparent to all it will have to happen someday and soon. This will create jobs that stay here.He wants to reward teachers who actually teach our children, and give women equal pay for equal work.He wants to bring new jobs in technology that will move us into the future and those jobs will stay here.He wants health care for all, that one will be hard. And the one that got my attention,he wants to broaden the tax base by giving hand up not out, some people are calling him a socialists because of this. But it makes sense if the people living at poverty wage could get better jobs and get off the system, they then would be paying taxes instead of taking welfare handouts, the tax base is larger creating more money for other things.A thriving economy. He said more but those were the ones I feel are important.
