  1. Suggest you do the famous "Route des vins" (wine-street) which starts in lovely Colmar and ends in Strasbourg. It will take you thru many charming villages, enable you to see many stork familys (don't get bitten if you are a woman, lol), great Restaurants and wine cellars with free tasting!

  2. A couple of days is short to enjoy everything Alsace has to offer but here are some suggestions:

    - Strasbourg (its cathedral, old districts, European parliament) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strasbourg

    - Colmar (a quaint Alsatian town south of Strasbourg)

    - Alsatian vineyards : http://www.visit-alsace.com/winstub/inde...

    - The Haut-Koenigsbourg castle

Here is also a list of the cutest villages on the tourist office website: http://www.tourisme-alsace.com/en/tradit...

  3. Good suggestions. I've been living in Alsace for 8 years and am still discovering it.

First, visit Strasbourg and stay in downtown. Do the boat cruise and walk around the Petite France area.

Then rent a car and do the Wine Route (Route du vin). Some of my favorite stops are Andlau, Barr and Riquewihr. Stop in Colmar and visit the Unterlinten museum.

You can visit Haute Koenigsbourg and nearby Monkey Mountain.

I also love historic Mount St. Odile with its view. If you want to see France's only concentration camp, you can go to Struthof.

If you want to drive over the border, Baden-Baden is great. Bring your swim suits and do the mineral baths (indoor/outdoor) as well as visit the castles in the area.
