  1. 1. Towards end of war, South offered freedom to any slave who entered Southern army.

    2. Emancipation Proclamation from the North allowed slavery to continue in slave-owning states that had joined the North.  (3 such states along the border.), till the end of the war.

    3. It's unbelievable that Northerners would go to war and risk their lives for people of another race, they didn't know - that is, Southern black slaves.

    4. It's unbelievable that Southerners would voluntarily go to war just to protect rich people's property (since slaves were the property of rich people, who would lose this property if slavery ended).  Can you imagine enlisting, just to protect Bill Gate's fortune?

    5.  If the issue was slavery, the US would have done more to end discrimination against blacks, but nothing was seriously done about this till the 1960s.

    6.  It was not about slavery, but about state's rights.

  2. It was fought because of the union. It was not about slaves.

  3. Slave States fought on the side of the union.  Lincoln would never dare flat out declare a war on slavery and he needed to keep border states aligned with the union.  Strategic states including Maryland were in fact slave states.  Another reason, The Emancipation proclamation only included slavery in the Confederacy, it made no mention of the existing slave populations in the north.

  4. Um im not helping you with your summer school homework...

  5. The American Civil War was not fought entirely over slavery. It was fought over economical differences and slavery was one of those differences

  6. it was mainly about lincoln preserving the union slavery factored in later

he didnt wasnt the south to suceed thats y the war started (im pretty sure)

  7. hmmmmm...maybe the name of the war...the word 'civil' refers to citizens...it was all about the stupid 'citizens'

  8. I'm not going to do your homework for you but here's a clue: Follow the money. Look at who was industrialized and who provided the raw materials. Also have a look at the declarations of secession that each of the confederate states.

Here's an odd tidbit. Lincoln signed the document that freed all slaves in the USA. Common political rhetoric infers that Republicans don't like blacks. Lincoln was a Republican.
