List of things you can get arrested for in Saudi Arabia?

Question

Like an unmarried man and woman associating with each other in public; walking your dog etc - not the usual thieving, raping, murdering crimes, but smaller specific ones please.

Well women get harassed if they don't wear the Abaya.  Being in public with a non mahram man(if your a woman).  Speaking out against the Government can land you in jail, or being put underground.  Driving around if your a woman can get you at least a ticket and a call to your mahram(husband, or father) if your lucky not to be thrown in jail for a few days.  Being out without a female escort if your a single Saudi man.

If u speak about Christianity to any Muslim u can get yourself arrested. Or say that u worship Jesus and He should be also be worshipped.

When you are living there, the authorities can come into your home and look for ALCOHOL and Pornography... EVEN A PLAYBOY can get you arrested.

Driving a car (if you are female)

Being out alone (if you are female)

Being out without a male chaparone (if you are more than one female)

Insulting Allah (I should imagine)

More recently ... owning a cat. (?! yeah really. Apparently some chaps have used them as babe magnets).

All bizarre. Just what exactly are these people afraid of?

Witchcraft, being Jewish ,adultery,pornography,owning a pet,premarital s*x,homosexuality,insulting the kingodom,insulting Islam,entering Mecca while nonmuslim

I lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years and I can tell you that the you can be arrested for just about anything. The freedoms of the west are hated by the ruling elites of Saudi Arabia and punishable offenses include things like...

a woman walking in public without an escort

a woman driving

a person who insults Islam

a woman who is not appropriately covered

possession of alcohol

possession of a Bible

possession of banned goods -- such as those commonly sold in Isreal

being Jewish

1. driving recklessly or driving without license

2. expired residence permit or Iqama for foreigners

3. caught intoxicated in public places

4. caught injuring somebody

5. caught in the house with pirated CDs and DVDs

6. caught in the house with alcoholic drinks

7. caught in the house with pornographic materials

those were the little things that comes to mind but there are still many....

A better question would have been, 'List of things one cannot get arrested for'.  

This is a good place to stay away from unless you are there to attend Friday prayers or the annual pilgrimage.

I think you know the answer better than a "Saudi woman". Even if you are not related, setting with a man “same ethnic background" in a public place will not get you arrested.  

Just respect the culture and religion of the people and you will be spect more.

a lot of these guys don't know what they are talking about. in fact I bet the majority of them have never even been there. i have been there a few times and one thing is for sure they don't go into your house and look for things without due reason (just like the US and other countries). Obviously if you are walking around nude in the streets you will get in trouble or if you openly call people to worship other than Allaah they will probably send you back to your home country.It also depends on where you reside, Jeddah is not the same as Riyadh. You are better off asking some expatriates that live there on their forums (do a google search of expatriates in saudi).
