List of top 100 performers in the game - MLB 2012 Update - Part 43
85. Tommy Hanson

Tommy Hanson he produced some magical performances since making his Major League Baseball debut. However, it wasn’t until 2009 when he truly realised his immense potential. It will not be wrong to say that he is one of the most promising young prospects in
a club (Atlant Braves) loaded with young pitchers. Making the most of available opportunities, he posted his best season in 2009. With an incredible 11-4 win-loss record and a 2.89 ERA, he made a name for himself. His 127.2 IP was also quite outstanding and
it helped the thrower finish third in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
Although Hanson’s health and fitness has remained a major problem for him in the last couple of seasons, he has shown glimpses of his ace potential. He missed most of the game in 2010 after he suffered from a serious shoulder injury. He made only 22 starts
in 2011 to achieve a decent 11-7 win-loss record with 1.17 WHIP and 2.09 K/BB. The upcoming season will be of great importance for the right handed pitcher. If he can stay healthy and fit for the entire season, he will prove to be a massive hurdle for the
National League batters.
"I know the [Braves] want to play it a little bit on the safer side, but I don't see a problem, with how I felt today, throwing a side on Friday. My shoulder feels good, Everything feels good. I feel really strong. I was probably throwing about 90 percent,
and then toward the end, I started acting like I was facing a hitter [by] throwing hard. It felt really good. I don't think it will be a problem, I think the biggest thing for me was the rest. Then once I started strengthening it, it felt a lot better." Said
Hanson in an interview with a sports website.
Hanson will be looking to train hard to perform consistently in Spring Training. Already, he has started to work out under the supervision of Braves’ coaches. With good health, he may be able to change the course of his career in 2012.
86. Mark Buehrle
While Mark Buehrle is not as talented as Tommy Hanson, he has done all those little things that lead to success on the mound. He is not gifted with an ace stuff but he work hard persistently to achieve his desired goals. Since making his Major League Baseball
debut, he has produced a number of great performances to help Chicago White Sox secure memorable wins.
In addition to his admirable efforts on the mound, Buehrle is a durable and reliable pitcher. He works hard to stay fit and healthy and he has appeared in at least 200 games in each of the last eleven seasons for his team. He is a kind of player, the manager
loves to have in his team. Whenever, he has been given a responsibility, he hasn’t disappointed his fans and team mates.
The veteran pitcher decided to move to Miami Marlins at the end of 2011 after an almost ten year long career with the Sox. If he can maintain his respectable form in 2012, Marlins are expected to get a decent return on their sensible investment.
