  1. Change the statistical guidelines for poverty and low-income people in the United States.  Bush has let liars from a certain underdeveloped nation where the people can just grab some bees to eat do the guidelines.  They average rents and the very low, low and poverty incomes to come up with a market rent in each area.  The rents  keep going up  because of the inaccurate figures given for poverty and low income.  Those who live on benefits alone are out on the street!

Due to the atrocities of homeless shelters and socialist communities being  abused by those who want to bring  Albanian communism with each person having nothing, they ought to bring down the market price for rent in privately owned housing and not harass landlords who offer cut-rate rental housing.

  2. 1. Bring your gently used/new pairs of jeans to any Aeropostale store between 1-22-08 and 2-10-08 to give the jeans to teens.

    2. Any time you see a deal for cheap razors, soap, shampoo, shirts, etc. buy a few of them and bring them to the shelter. It will be so cheap.

    3. Sign yourself up to take care of a dinner for the people of the shelter. Make a homemade meal. Steak, chicken, pasta, soup, etc.

You are a wonderful person. Doing little things can make a huge difference in someone's life. If you really want to, you could have a huge event to raise money, and give it to a family of your choice that either is living on the streets or stuck in a shelter. Buy them a condo or apartment and furnish it as best you can. Good luck!

  3. Have your wish come true at http://www.makeawishonline.net

  4. Make landlords work with tenants, so if they loose their jobs they can have time before being evicted to get back on track.

Build more public housing (decent) without 6month to 1 year waiting lists to get into a HUD or Section 8 housing.

Force employers and congress to raise the minimum wage so that people can survive and not live paycheck to paycheck

The Homeless need a warm, safe non judgemental place they can go to get off the streets. They need tolietries, underwear, socks and warm coats and good sneakers. But more than anything they need their self respect, most dont want to beg and are willing to work for what they have, they just sometimes cant get a break. The biggest issue is getting them off the streets in an apt. A homeless shelter is not the answer, and you can feed them, clothe them but all that most want is their lives back.
