Question:

List some substitutes to swimming, please? Training for sports?

Hey, does anyone know how to train for swimming without actually going to a pool? Our local one is closed for repairs.

Does running or biking help? Plus

Any specific stretches I should do beforehand?

In general I wanna be able to tread for longer, too.

  1. hit the gym and pump iron, that will help you

  2. Any kind of aerobic activity will help, but nothing is a substitute for swimming. Stay as active as possible until your pool is open again. Running and biking are great ways to stay in shape for swimming.

Doing a lot of core work will help too. Sit-ups, crunches, planks, push-ups, pilates, and so on.

Between the strength building and aerobic activity, when you're able to get back in the pool you'll hopefully have the strength and endurance to train again.
