Listeria bacteria in Canada. Are Schneider's wieners still safe?

I know Schneiders was on the recall list. Does that count their hotdogs too? Or just the deli meats? Anybody?

  1. nothing is safe anymore


  2. Maple Leaf & Schneider hot dogs are not part of the recall, as they are produced at different plants. The key is the "est" or establishment # on the packages. Every govt inspected meat plant in Can & US is assigned a number. The plant where the recalled product was produced is 97B. The number is found usually on the round "Canada" seal, or next to the code date.  look for something that says "est 35" for example. (Same applies to bacon, it's not manufactured at 97B)
