    Read the above article.

Don't worry, I heard only the Maple Leaf products are tainted with the  Listeria monocytogenes.

If you are really really really worried, then it wouldn't hurt to get it checked. It can be treated with a round of antibiotics. So never fear!

  2. -can affect almost any organ in body

-can lead to many problems like meningitis, eye infections, miscarriage, vomiting and diarrhea

-brain abscesses in 20 % of cases

    -sore red eyes

  3. Schnieders isn't the affected meats.  It is all maple leaf foods that they are warning about.

Most of the affected products are lunch-meat types.  They are saying that symptoms can appear up to 3 months after eating an infected product and will appear as if food poisoning.  Most people can survive this, but it's the really young children, those with chronic diseases and the elderly that have to be the most careful as it can become deadly (there was another deadly case in St. Catharines, Ont in the past couple days).

edit: I never heard about the schneiders....I guess I'll just stay away from all meats of that sort - better safe than sorry!
