Question:

Listerine after teeth removal ?

It's been a week since I had my wisdom teeth plus other teeth removed. I've kept up with brushing and doing the salt water rise. But a friend told me Listerine mouthwash would probably help healing more cause it kills germs. Has anyone done this? Is it a good idea to do with open gums?

  1. i have done it and it will be fine, but it will burn a little....

  2. It kills all the bacteria and germs it has chemicals that re-act to nasty problems like germs etc,

  3. Absolutely not! Do not try that! It would hurt really bad because your mouth hasn't had time to heal, especially since your gums are still open. Keep brushing and doing the salt water rinse. The salt water rinse will help it heal better, but listerine would hurt like the devil.

  4. Ideally you should ask your dentist, but I would think you could use the listerine if you dilute it with one part listerine to two parts water. This way, it won't be as strong.

  5. thats not good, You will irritate the extraction site and cause a dry socket and dislodge a clot and every thing else bad will happen!

  6. I have an idea! ASK YOUR DENTIST!
