Question:

Listeriosis (Meat Scare)?

With this scare with the infected meat going on, I have become worried. I have eaten a fair bit of the brands & products that were recalled (fair bit is like at least once a day...) I am showing a lot of the symptoms but in mild forms. Are the listeriosis symptoms severe or mild? I am going to a doctor tomorrow to see about my tendonitis in my elbow and was wondering if I should bring this up as well?

Sometimes I am able to function pretty normally but I never feel 100%.

Is there anything that I should be alarmed about?

I feel like I have food poisoning, car sickness and the flu at the same time.

I am very achy and feel like I have a chill that won't go away..

I also have this really werid taste in the back of my mouth/throat..

I'm in my upper teens and am not pregnant.

I have a 'naturally' weak immune system.

  1. If you have eaten the products then yes, DO bring it up with your doctor at your appointment.

This is not to be taken lightly. Most have described it as an illness they have not felt before even though it feels like the flu.

  2. Listeriosis is a serious infection from eating foods that have been under cooked or raw, with this bacterium. This effects mostly older folks, folks with low immune systems and pregnant women. symptoms may be fever, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea if bad this can get into the nervous system, symptoms headaches, stiff neck confusion, unbalanced, convulsions, this is a serious disease but not that common its rare since the FDA and the government take great measures to control the meat production in the USA and monitor foods regularly just for this and any other issues that may come up with the foods we all eat here in America. But if your concerned about this by all means bring it up to your doctor when visit  Also make sure you cook all your meats well wash veggies well and clean up after also well this helps helps to prevent  any contamination People with Aids, Cancer,Diabetes or Kidney disease have a harder time to fight this off if happen to get since the immune system is already low. They treat this with antibiotics like all infections in the human body. This is rare not to many people really get but still beware of any and all disease in this world. Good luck at doctors and hope you are fine and well.
