Listing hair color on passport?

Question

When you add your hair color for your passport does it need to be in the group of basic hair colors (brown, blonde, black, red, gray) or can you write a more specific color. (for example could I write auburn or dark red or would that be too specific?) The problem is I don't fit into any of the standard colors and I don't want it to be wrong.

i think dark red would be fine

Because it's a government form, stick to the basics. I always say "red," even though "light strawberry blond" would be more accurate.
