Question:

Listing quotations in MLA format?

I have a summer reading assignment over Lord of the Flies and one of the requirements for it is to find quotations to support my observations for a few charaters.

All i need to know is how to list these quotations in MLA format. Everywhere i've looked on the internet, they always tell me to write it out of the context and write out the author and cite it but that's not what my teacher asks of me. She just wants all of the quotations listed in MLA format with each character (4) that i made observations on.

**Can anyone tell me a site that might have this information or give me an example?**

One of my characters is Piggy, and one of my quotes for him are:

"He was shorter than the fair haired boy and very fat." (Page 1)

Thanks!! =)

  1. When you put the quote in an essay or whatever you're writing, put the quote in and write it exactly as you did... "He was shorter than the fair haired boy and very fat"(Pg. 1). Just put the period outside of the page number parenthese...

I'm not sure of a website to help, but if you search google you should find something. If not and you need more help i'd be happy to help... just email me :)
