  1. Irrelevance is an adjective, so it modifies a noun. Like "When Justin asked about the civil war in Geometry class, the question was irrelevant."

    Irrelevancy is a noun because it's a thing. With that you can say "Irrelevancy is something not tolerated in a strict Catholic school."
